July 7, 2010

Many people have unrealistic expectations and participate in Microsoft certification exam, but they always end up frustrated. A lot of candidates will hold the following expectations:

* 70-647 certification is the only way to get a job successfully in the IT industry;
* 70-647 is the key to being successful;
* I can get my dreaming job as long as I acquire the 70-647 certificate;
* 70-647 certification is the rule of the IT industry;
* 70-647 certification is a gold mine and so on.

Does 70-647 certification really play such a big role? Maybe the misunderstanding on certification leads to the false hope.

In fact, the certification exams, for example 70-647, is used to assess candidate’s knowledge about a certain software, logical thinking ability as well as ability of problem solving, but almost all the clients and employers want you to have sufficient experience and skills. And the certification examinations are not working experiences.

Besides, 70-647 is mainly concerned with technical skills, and you won’t be able to succeed in the IT industry with skills. Therefore, in order to be successful in the IT industry, you not only need to master certain skills, but also need more other knowledge like interpersonal relationship, negotiation skills, teamwork and so on.

In short, you should consider carefully before applying for certification, and must guarantee yourself enough time and resources to pass the examination. You can obtain the useful experiences from the mass media, the internet, or even from your leader.
